Azelaic Acid — What It Does and Who Should Use It

What is Azelaic Acid?

A naturally occurring acid found in grains like wheat, rye, and barley. Also produced by yeast that lives on healthy skin.

What does it do?

Reduces acne, fades post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, treats rosacea, and gently exfoliates. Also antimicrobial.

Good for

Acne-prone skin, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, sensitive skin (gentler than AHAs/BHAs).

Avoid if

Rare sensitivity. Safe during pregnancy (one of few actives that is).
