Retinol — What It Does and Who Should Use It

What is Retinol?

A form of vitamin A, the gold standard anti-aging ingredient in skincare. Converts to retinoic acid in the skin.

What does it do?

Accelerates cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, fades dark spots, unclogs pores, and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

Good for

Aging skin, acne-prone skin, uneven texture, hyperpigmentation.

Avoid if

Pregnancy and breastfeeding. Start low and slow — can cause purging, dryness, and irritation. Avoid with other strong actives (AHAs, BHAs) until skin is acclimated. Use SPF daily when using retinol.
