Salicylic Acid — What It Does and Who Should Use It

What is Salicylic Acid?

A beta hydroxy acid derived from willow bark. Oil-soluble, allowing it to penetrate into pores.

What does it do?

Exfoliates inside pores, dissolves excess oil and dead skin cells, treats and prevents blackheads and whiteheads.

Good for

Oily, acne-prone, and congested skin. Effective for blackheads and clogged pores.

Avoid if

Aspirin allergy (same family). Pregnancy in high doses. Dry or sensitive skin may experience irritation.
